HELPING CHILDREN IN THE SYSTEM

Why does a child get put into the system? Generally, these children have been removed from their homes because they are unsafe or have been abused or neglected – but children in the system come from all walks of life.

Some display troubled behavior stemming from a toxic home-life and others are put into foster care due to a death in the family or other uncontrolled circumstances. Unfortunately, the system does not always allow for much rehabilitation due to lack of funding and understaffed facilities.

Nearly 20 million children are denied the opportunity to participate in various after school programs or even join a sports team. Without access to these programs, more often than not, these children find themselves in situations that lead to decisions that can be detrimental to their future. After school programs and sports activities can help keep these children busy, encourage them to make better decisions, obtain academic achievements, strengthen social skills and gain support from other adults as well as ultimately help shape a more sustainable future for themselves.

Rujo Helps is a dedicated after school programs nonprofit organization. Our goal is to support these children by helping to get them involved in numerous activities through donations from caring community members and volunteers who lend their time to help make this all possible.
